Definitely out in the middle of nowhere. Roads out coming off 844 were not bad at all. Ghost town is on the smaller side building wise, but plenty to see. There is a trail around the town that we unfortunately didn't have time for but will do when we go again. Lots of shady places to picnic. The fossil house tour, Saturday and Sunday 10am and 2pm was very informative and interesting. The tour guide was wonderful. We had a great time overall and will definitely return.

The campsites themselves are nicely set up, with a table, shade structure, and cooking fire area in each site. The vault toilets and water spigots are nicely spaced throughout the camping area. …

The fossils were amazing, and the tour was definitely worth the extra $5. Having someone point out the features and explain what I was looking at made the fossils substantially more accessible.

This place is gorgeous. Nevada State Parks has really been pushing to preserve and beautify here, and the effort shows. The camp grounds are awesome, the tour and the Ranger were fun and friendly. A great day trip, but would love to camp …

If you like Western history .. think gold mining, paleontology (the scientific study of very ancient life .. think dinosaurs) and you like being in the wide open remote Great Basin, you will love this place. …
